Doctors

Dr. Cay Gilbertson DVM received her B.A. in English in 1971, from Stanford University.  She graduated Cum Laude from WSU Veterinary School in 1981.  After one year at a small animal practice in Seattle, she moved back home to Bellingham as a relief Veterinarian.   In 1983 she purchased The Gene Poole Memorial Cat Clinic from its founder, Dr Bob Cockcroft.  She has been a Feline Practitioner ever since.  She is a charter member of the Feline Academy and Medicine and Surgery and has attended a minimum of 36 hours of Continuing Education in Feline Medicine and Surgery yearly since 1989.  Dr. Gilbertson enjoys sailing, growing roses, riding her two rescued Thoroughbreds, showing American Pitbull Terriers, and spoiling her four kitties.

Diane Harrington, B.S. Agric. Eng.,CVA,graduated from the Bellingham Technical Institute Veterinary Assistant program in 2003.  Diane has pre-med & pre-veterinary science background as well as a B.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering & International Agriculture from Cornell University.  Diane lived in Asia for 11 years where she met her husband and son was born.  She loves anything & everything Asian, growing her own food and learning new languages.  At home, she has 2 cats, 1 dog, fish and a bearded dragon. 

Linda Crittenden, CVA

Liz Hansen, CVA, Liz began working in the veterinary industry in 2003 and acquired her Veterinary Assistant Certification in 2006 at Apollo College in Spokane. She started her career at The Cat Clinic in June of 2009. Growing up on a small farm in Montana contributed to her life long passion for animals. Liz has 2 bengal cats and a pom-chi dog. She loves spending her time outdoors camping, fishing, crabbing, hiking, kayaking, sailing, etc. (arts and crafts as an indoor hobby). Liz also continues to work on her degree in Zoology and has an extreme addiction to CHOCOLATE.

Natalie Canniff, LPN, CVA, graduated the Bellingham Technical Institute Vet Assistant program in 2002.  She has worked in Skagit County getting a lot of experience in Emergency Medicine.  She is currently working on her LPN at Skagit Valley College.  Natalie and her husband have 3 dogs, 2 pit bulls (punish the deed, not the breed) and 1 boston terrier.  They also just welcomed a son to their furry kids!  In her spare time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking and photography.
